Business Analysis in Application<
The basics of Business Analyses can be taught through reading and discussion, but to really understand you need to be able to apply the concepts.<
The project is an opportunity to do just that, apply business analyst techniques to a business challenge of your own choosing.<
Over the duration of this course you will be working on the five parts of the course project.<
They are:<
Part 1- Selection of Company and problem. Using Microsoft Project to outline milestones to completion (Due in Week 1) See Week 1 Assignment for more detail (2-3 pages).<
Part 2 – Elicitation Exercise. Using SurveyMonkey conduct a survey of stakeholders addressing the problem identified in Part 1. This will be a paper that you submit. (Due in Week 3) See Week 3 Assignment for more detail (2-3 pages).<
Part 3 – Network and Flow Chart Diagraming. Using Microsoft Visio diagram the current situation and two proposed solutions. This will be a paper that you submit (Due in Week 5) See Week 5 Assignment for more detail (2-3 pages).<
Part 4 – Final report to management. Report must be 12-15 pages in length (due in Week 7).<
Follow APA format for title page, reference page, appendix, citations, etc.<
At least six authoritative, outside references are required (anonymous authors or Web pages are not acceptable).<
All DeVry University policies are in effect including the plagiarism policy.<
Part 5 – Presentation to management. Narrated PowerPoint presentation or video, 7-10 minutes in length.<
Topic Selection<
Select a specific organization of interest to you and identify a problem at the firm. This problem should related to the business’ success. Example: Company selected is Walmart. Problem” shelves are not being stocked properly.<
You are a Business Analyst asked to assess the situation Assume that an executive management member has requested a thorough analysis and recommended course of action to resolve an actual organizational problem. Your goal is to develop two potential solutions and ultimately make a recommendation that will make a positive difference to the performance of the organization.<
Your team’s paper should address the following three course objectives, at minimum:<
Course Objective 1 – Determine the role Business Analyses plays in modern business (including e-business)..<
Course Objective 4 – Evaluate potential strategic solutions regarding viability and impact<
Course Objective 5 – Appraise the impact of potential strategic solutions on businesses.<
Course Objective 6 – Determine proven methods for communicating and presenting to executive management<
